
Kevin Miller (born January 24, 1998) is a Connecticut-based guitarist, composer, and music educator who has been described as a “substantial improviser with a convincing technique and robust imagination.” (All About Jazz)
Kevin has released music through labels including Ramble Records, Creative Sources Recordings, Plus Timbre, Nachstück Records, MuteAnt Sounds, and okazo.
His discography spans solo recordings as well as duo and trio projects with musicians including Dan Blake,
Samo Šalamon, Jukka-Pekka Kervinen, Dmitry Ishenko, Caleb Duval, Andrew Weathers, and Richard Mariconda.
Among these, Blake, Šalamon, and Kervinen are recurring collaborators who form a central thread in Kevin's recorded output.
A trio collaboration with Blake and Šalamon was noted to “sound as if this trio has instantly established its own aesthetic of thoughtful, soulful, and collective interplay.” (Salt Peanuts)
His duo work with Kervinen has been described as music that “requires a dedicated listening to let it develop its full potential and once you do so you are rewarded with an ear and brain enriching experience.” (The Free Jazz Collective)
Miller’s recordings have been featured on programs such as BBC Radio, KOWS Radio, Different Noises,
Space is the Place Radio, Sound Wheels, and Framework Radio.
In addition to his own projects, Kevin also does work as a guest guitar soloist for hire.
As an author, Kevin has published three instructional books: Outside Sounds and Substitutions for Modern Jazz Guitar (Mel Bay, 2023), An Advanced Approach to Practicing Jazz Guitar (Mel Bay, 2025), and Unlocking the Neck: A Comprehensive Approach Using One Major Scale (self-published, 2025)
